ManGo Development has supported work among the silent voices in Voi in conjunction with Talent Natures Troupe in Taita Taveta since 2013. Silent Voices comprises hearing impaired children pursuing education. The image shows the two children we met then and the youth they are today.
At the end of 2019 we were able to facilitate educational assessments for about 80 children with disabilities and thus ensure they can join various special needs schools in 2020.
There is a great need for help for persons with disabilities (PWDs) especially among the rural and poor. They need inclusion in society, medical care and job opportunities. Our project in Ndi is aimed at creating the much needed jobs that will prioritize work that benefit PWDs.
